The Llama Show – Day 7959

Good Morning, if you may.

As you know, my name is Llama, at least my internet name. I plan on returning to my Truman Show, which is this blog, and I’ll try to post more and more. I’m slowly trying to fix the mess that is around my life at the moment. And I should start doing it by finally making the festival announcements that needed to be done a couple months ago, on my short film’s Facebook page.

Speaking of Truman Show, I’ve recently (last night) watched The Truman Show for the first time and what a fucking fantastic film! Pardon my language. 😉

Also, I took a look at Martha Marcy May Marlene, which is surprisingly great. Really uneasy and nerve-racking, BUT it does its job more than well.

I would give The Truman Show a round 90 and Martha Marcy May Marlene a 77. I’ll make reviews in the future, if I don’t abandon this again.

Being honest is the first step to fix everything, isn’t it?

Thanks for tuning in, and I’ll see you later!

Adios! 😉

Nostalgic Trap

Howdy,

Right now it is 5h30 in the morning, and guess who is still awake and probably will waste his Sunday Morning? Yeah, you guessed right, Peter Panda (the one from Vin Diesel’s babysitter film). But you probably forgot that Peter Panda even existed, huh?

Jokes apart, yes, I am still awake, and the reason is that I got stuck in a Nostalgic Trap. What is a Nostalgic Trap? It is when you see something that reminds you of a really good/fun part of your life, and them it leads you to another them, that leads you to another things and it never stops.

And now the question is: What is my Nostalgic Trap? Old Free Step videos. Why? When I was a teenager, I used to dance Free Step, which actually, was the thing that helped me make friends when I moved to Rio de Janeiro (when I was around 15), and at the time, making Free Step videos was the coolest thing between this group of people. I have over 15 videos of me dancing it. But how did I even remember all of this on a random Saturday evening? Easy! There is a Facebook page that re-uploads old Free Step videos, and one of them appeared on my timeline, which lead me to another video, of a guy who used a song I’ve used in one of my videos… and there I went for almost 2h30!

I’m exhausted, sad and mad at the same time. I truly wish I could enjoy more, right now it seems that I going through a really hard phase, and I now that I won’t have the same type of fun that I used to when I was younger. It kinda makes me sad.

And to complete, there is the fact that me and my ex-Brazilian Llamarina split up, so I’m alone in my journey again.

Alone. Broke. Unmotivated.

Please, don’t think I’m one of this crazy suicidal Tumblr kids, I’m just going through a hard phase right now, and until things get better, it will be hard.

And as usual, last but not least, if you’re reading this, it means that you read some of the things that I needed to get out of my chest and that means a lot, even if I don’t have a clue of who you are!

See you soon, muchachos! 😉

Cancelled Plans

Howdy,

It’s been a while… again! I know!

But let’s go right into my day: Yesterday I went to the movie theater to watch Hardcore Henry, which I will be reviewing soon. It kinda sucked, but nothing too bad to piss me off. And then we had a party at night, which moved to today, due to location problems, and 2 hours before the whole thing today, BOOM, it got cancelled. So here I am, Saturday night, alone, and broke, not going anywhere.

Probably I’ll watch some The Walking Dead and kill Season 2.

Oh, yeah, there is another problem!!! I ran out of mustard and as stated before, I’m broke, and until Monday, I won’t be able to afford mustard! How will I make Mayo-and-Mustard Chicken Sandwiches? My fat llama body craves for this sandwich… 😦

And last, but not least, I will be also reviewing Weezer’s White Album this week! But today, unfortunately, it’s time to chill.

See you soon, muchachos! 😉

“Metal Resistance” by BABYMETAL – Review

Metal Resistance is an excellent follow-up to BABYMETAL’s self titled album. Even though is not as great as their 2014 album, Metal Resistance shows the evolution to their songs, and how more mature they are, incorporating a lot more of metal.

If you enjoy their music, this album is necessary to be in your music library. And if you prefer streaming, than buying music, it is also available in multiple streaming platforms.

Another interesting way to see some of their songs, is that they are also throwing a little bit of J-Rock in their songs, for example, Amore can easily be cut into an anime opening/ending, which is pretty common in most popular J-Rock bands, like, FLOW.

There is one song in english if you buy or stream it out of Japan, called The One, and I’m not gonna lie, it is pretty good. I was not expecting it to be that enjoyable. Su-Metal has improved her English a lot, I remember seeing some interviews a while ago, and wow, what a change!

Oh, and before knowing that some members of the band DragonForce collaborated in this album, I was thinking to myself: “Did they change the band? It sounds so much like DragonForce!”

I totally recommend for people who are familiar with its style and appreciate it.

Album: Metal Resistance
Artist: BABYMETAL
Year: 2016
Genre: Metal
Songs: 11
Duration: 50:03
Top Song: “THE ONE – English ver.”
Honorable Mentions: “Amore”, “No Rain, No Rainbow” and “Road to Resistance”

“Life of Pablo” by Kanye West – REVIEW

Finally Life of Pablo, Kanye West’s new album, was released in multiple streaming platforms.

I took my time, listened to the entire thing, and decided to do a review.

“Life of Pablo” by Kanye West

Even if you don’t like their music, is undeniable that Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West are big geniuses of 2010s music. Not only because of their provocative style, and awesome productions, but they know what to say to follow a certain theme they want to achieve when they were making their albums.

Even though Life of Pablo is not his strongest album, it is still delightful to listen to.

Songs like Ultralight BeamWaves and Fade are great songs if you are out of creativity juice, and needs some inspiration.

I cannot forget to mention the awesome performances that Rihanna and Chris Brown made in the songs they sang with Kanye.

And last, but not least, I recommend this album for people who love 2010s rap music. This album is like modern art, not suited for everybody.

Album: Life of Pablo
Artist: Kanye West
Year: 2016
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
Songs: 19
Duration: 59:44
Top Song: “Waves”

Cards Against Llamanity

Howdy,

Good night! Today, I’ve finally released my stress going out with some llamas. Oh yeah, my fur looks nice now. So, Mr. Llama was on point.

We went to a friends finals of his hockey regional team, but they loss. We went to a nice pub, we drank, and we played a lot of Cards Against Humanity. I lost to this same friend by only one point. He got 15, I got 14. :C

I enjoy going out with them, even though, sometimes, I feel less welcome than everybody. Maybe it is just me. I’m used to how warm Brazilian people are, and how much better I was at talking, or making jokes, because of the small, but significant language barrier I have to go through.

At least I had a good April Fools’. It could be better? Yes, but it also could be worse, so I can’t complain.

See you soon, muchachos! 😉

King of the April Fools’, Google, Failed!

Howdy,

How are your beautiful faces? Did you all see the giant backfire that Google’s April Fools joke made?

It is insane the amount of people who still fall for dumb stuff like this, and the worse, people will sue Google because apparently, this joke THAT THEY AGREE TO BE PART OF, made people lose their jobs, and other similar horrible situations. COME ON PEOPLE! AMERICA! YOU CANNOT BE THAT DUMB! That was a normal send button, and a joke button, so if you are sending an email to your boss, PLEASE, DO NOT TRY TO BE FUNNY! Be professional, it is your boss, for llama’s sake.

I’m happy that NeonMob and YouTube did excellent April Fools’ jokes were received very well by their audience.

At the end of the day, Google will still be the King of the internet, and dumb people will still be dumb people.

See you soon, muchachos! 😉

Favor March is taking all my energy!

Howdy,

Finally I’m starting the last project of Favor March, even though we are already in April.

So Favor March included 5 music videos, and I already did 4! Woo-hoo!

And tomorrow we start the last one. Today I need to sleep reaaaaaaaally early, to have enough energy. A weekend with two 12-hour shoots + 1 hour of lunch on each.

But it needs to be done. The crew is good. The cast  too. And when it ends, I’ll be able to come back to my Llama Blogger life!

See you soon, muchachos! 😉

ERASED (Boku Dake ga Inai Machi) – REVIEW

I know I’ve been missing for days, but I have my reasons, which will be explained later.

Finally, after weeks waiting for this marvelous, and wonderful, episode, I have finished ERASED (for the first time I controlled myself, and didn’t read the manga).

WOW! That’s my reaction to it.

Since the beginning of this anime, you can see that the director, Tomohiko Itō, knows what he was doing. It is beautifully directed to the bone. Every single detail was there for a reason. I could not expect something that amazing coming from the person who unfortunately directed Sword Art Online (both seasons).

Even though there was no insane plot twist in the anime, ERASED, knew how to hold my attention, and even make me anxiously wait for the next episode. Every episode ending has a powerful cliffhanger, that don’t give any chance of a plot twist. It just makes you mad inside, because you definitely knows what is going to happen on the next episode.

I cannot forget to mention its cinematography, and wonderful change of aspect ratio in THE RIGHT MOMENTS (a bunch of Hollywood directors still don’t know how to do that effectively, except Nolan, who for some reason didn’t bother me at all doing that during Interstellar). How the focus was used, and how it knew how to play with its shots and lights, ERASED is a perfect combination between spices, something well done, with nothing going too much, neither too little.

I wish I knew more animes that made me tear up MULTIPLE TIMES, like this one did.

ERASED is as powerful as any well done series you can find out there, one of the few animes that I would recommend even for people who hate the platform.

It deserves to get a Llama Award.
